Winter’s Bone is the title of a movie, but do you know what Winters Bone means?

The dictionary definition of Winter’s Bone is: Witches in the woods in the winter doing ceremonies with bones.

The bonus features on the DVD release of the movie have several deleted scenes depicting a coven of hillbilly witches casting a spell on the main character’s father.   The theatrical release doesn’t explain how he dies, but the extended scenes show the witches casting a spell on the man which turns him into bones.
